The Bering Sea
Add some info about this item
The inspiration for the Bering Sea skirt was from the Crested Auklet in the Bering Sea, Alaska. This highly social seabird with a forward pointing ponytail, orange beak, cute smile and strong citrus odor!
The Seven Seas
"The Seven Seas" --Though I didn't follow the normal guidelines ( the largest seas or among trade routes), I chose 7 seas as a base..ideas of Mermaids. La Sirena will be using inspiration to create versions of the following seas:
The Bering Sea portrayed as a social butterfly, or like the crested-auklet (a citrus smelling bird that dives deep into the water to feed),
Sea of Japan (taking inspiration from the koi fish, Geisha, and lotus flower),
Coral Sea (taking inspiration from the different coral reefs found in the Coral Sea, where they can be many different colors, mostly the blue and turquoise shades),
Black Sea (taking more inspiration from it's name, interpreting a Sea Witch theme),
Red Sea (also taking inspiration not only from it's name, but also the location: Between Africa and Asia) ,
White Sea (this sea takes inspiration from history: Ohthere, a Viking age seafarer, travels North via the White Sea), and last but not least the
Mediterranean Sea (taking inspiration from the location and the clothing from traditional and modern era).
